What we deliver.
For over 15 years, Coastal Grid has engineered Remedial Action Schemes for the western US grid. We are one of a select few firms officially approved to provide RAS services to SCE, a designation held by only a small number of contractors and one of the most difficult credentials to earn in this discipline. Through that relationship we have engineered numerous RAS and Centralized RAS (CRAS) projects across the utility’s footprint. We also engineer RAS on the customer side of the meter, working with renewable developers, IPPs, and EPCs to tie new generation and storage facilities into the bulk system. Across both sides, we deliver the full lifecycle including planning, design, configuration, and commissioning. Our team has worked on some of the largest RAS systems in the western United States and has participated in the WECC RASRS, including delivering presentations.
Scope we cover.
- Full-cycle RAS project services
- RAS print design including rack layouts, wiring, schematics, and logic
- Detailed logic design
- Relay and IED configuration
- Centralized RAS (CRAS) design and implementation
The full lifecycle, both sides of the meter.
15+ years engineering RAS for the western US grid. Approved RAS contractor for SCE, one of the most difficult credentials to earn in this discipline.
We start by understanding the scheme, the site, the standards, and the people.
Print packages, IED selection, logic and schematic design. Reviewed against your standards.
Relay settings, GOOSE configuration, automation logic.
Factory acceptance, site acceptance, end-to-end protection verification. Doble, Omicron. Documented at every step.
On site through final energization, with field engineers who have closed out hundreds of substation projects.
Your team gets the documentation, the as-builts, the configuration files, and the engineering decisions.
